Dr. Jean-Louis Arès graduated from the University of Alberta with his dental degree in 1965. Ten years later, he received his degree in orthodontics from the University of Toronto.

In practice since 1975, Dr. Arès participates in the Gnathology Study Club and the TMJ Study Club and is also a member in good standing of the American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, Canadian Association of Orthodontists, Alberta Society of Orthodontists, Canadian Dental Association, and the Edmonton and District Dental Society. He is also a member of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Fellow of the International College of Dentists.

In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, photography, music, gardening and sports.
