Dr. Mark Knoefel earned a spot on the Dean’s Honor List when he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at McGill University in 1995. He then completed a multidisciplinary residency at the Montreal Children’s Hospital before moving on to the University of Alberta where he obtained his M.Sc. in Orthodontics in 1999.

When he is not in the office, Dr. Knoefel is a clinical associate instructor in the Department of Dentistry at the University of Alberta.

In practice for six years, he stays abreast of the latest technological advances in orthodontics through membership in the following organizations: Canadian Association of Orthodontists, American Association of Orthodontists, Alberta Society of Orthodontists, Canadian Dental Association, Alberta Dental Association and the Alberta Society of Dental Specialists. He is also the vice president of the University of Alberta Orthodontic Alumni Association.

In his spare time, Dr. Knoefel enjoys music, ballroom dancing, canoeing and hiking. He also has a strong passion for studying languages, as he can speak, read and write English, French and German fluently.

He and his wife, Line, are the proud parents of two exceptional boys, Mark-Olivier and Henrik.
